The Word Jewish is Not Even Mentioned!!

Driving in the car yesterday (November 25, 2007) with my wife Nina, we shared our suspicions that an agreed text for Annapolis had already been written, but for public suspense purposes, and to keep the media busy, we were told over and over that no agreement was reached.

A few hours ago we found out that we were right and we were all once again being lied to (sorry, misled…) by our, quite literaly fearless, so-called leaders.

The joint statement text was worked out and agreed upon days ago, and was held back just for the "effect factor," while the media talked over and over about the "lack of agreement" rather than the teachers strike, the price of bread, the government failure to stop the Qassam rockets from Gaza, the Winograd Commission or, heaven forbid, Olmert's personal legal problems (not to speak of those of his former minister of finance, former minister of justice, former minister of defense...etc…)

Now that we have read and heard the text of the joint statement – we can see how far our leaders will go to mislead us. For days, Foreign Minister Livni talked again and again about how she was insisting on recognition of Israel as a "Jewish State."

The fact that this was exactly the formulation of UN Resolution 181 of November 29, 1947, David Ben-Gurion's Declaration of Independence on May 15, 1948, and the de-facto recognition by U.S. President Harry Truman that same day (it was still the 14th in Washington, DC) is somehow lost on our leaders and ignored by our media pundits who are flying high on the 1990's carpet of euphoria.

Transcript of Press Release Announcing U.S. Recognition of Israel (1948)

This Government has been informed that a Jewish state has been proclaimed in
Palestine, and recognition has been requested by the provisional Government
thereof.

The United States recognizes the provision government as the de
facto authority of the new State of Israel.

Harry Truman

Approved, May 14, 1948.

You will notice that in the original, typed text, Truman was to sign, the words "Jewish state" were used twice. Only after hearing that Ben-Gurion had given that Jewish state a name, was the second reference to "Jewish state" scratched out by hand and replaced with "State of Israel."

Now, 59 years later, our leaders think that being recognized as a Jewish state by a group of terrorist leaders is something to bring home as an achievement?

In 1948, no one recognized a democratic state or a "state of all her citizens." The United States, the United Nations and the majority of the world applauded the creation of a "Jewish State," and that state took on an historic name – The State of Israel - that was meaningful to Jews and Gentiles the world over.

Now, 59 years later, we are fighting amongst ourselves for whether Israel is Jewish state or not?

Just a thought from the hills of Judea…

Help Keep Yerushalayim United & Jewish!!

On November 27th, 2007 leaders representing over 85% of people living on planet Earth will congregate in Annapolis, USA to once again seek concessions from Israel and declare that Jerusalem should be torn apart, with the new parts going to the multi-national state of Israel and the ancient and historic parts, holy to Jews and Christians, becoming the capital of a newly formed, Iran-supported terror-state.

Worst of all, the United States and Israel are leading this effort hand in hand, while both Israeli citizens and US forces in the Middle East continue to face down terrorism, rocket attacks, and hate, and while Israel's kidnapped soldiers continue to remain POW's with no sign of life or Red Cross visitation allowed.

The Coordinating Council on Jerusalem (http://www.ccjer.org) a loose coalition made up of people of all faiths concerned with the future of the Holy City, is providing a system of FREE calls to shore up public support for a United Jerusalem (based, of course, on amazing new Israeli technology!).

By visiting http://callforjerusalem.org/s/fb1.html and spending 90 seconds setting things up, the system will call your phone back for free and allow you to talk to the offices of the President of the United States, the Secretary of State and the Ambassador of Israel to the USA.

One Jerusalem's site features a listing of all the important numbers you will need to express your support for a United Jerusalem at http://www.onejerusalem.org/blog/leaders.asp

StandWithUs (http://www.standwithus.com) is also using the new technology that greatly facilitates their call to action:

"Phone the White House, Secretary of State Rice and the Israeli Ambassador, urging them not to put pressure on Israel. Since the conference starts Tuesday, please make your calls TODAY before 5pm EST."

Their website includes a chronology of the day-to-day developments and shifting positions leading to the Annapolis meeting, a list of the countries and organizations that have been invited to the meeting and a selection of opinion pieces and analyses of the upcoming meetings.

When Will We Learn? Volume 53

Galilean Thoughts for Friday, 23 November 2007

When Will We Learn? Volume 53

"And the Lord was with Judah; and he took possession of the mountain, but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron."

Judges 1:19 - (Somewhere between 1244 BCE and 879 BCE)

"Israel to allow a Russian shipment of armored vehicles — along with 1,000 rifles and 2 million rounds of ammunition — to Palestinian Authority."
Time Magazine - November 2007

Three thousand years have gone by and we have learned nothing. Camp David I has come and gone, Oslo has come and gone, Camp David II has come and gone, hundreds of innocent Jews have been butchered since 1993 in the "name of peace," the expultion of Jews from their homes in Gaza has come, destroyed and proven to be (as expected by most) a complete farce - and yet we don't learn a thing.

The tribe of Judah could not take the low lying areas in Judges 1:19 because their enemies had "chariots of iron."

Now, 3,000 years later the leader of modern Judah - the Jewish State of Israel, has his own chariots of iron - the best on the face of the known planet, and rather than using them to protect what is righfully ours, is now planning to provide our enemies with modern, high tech "chariots of iron."

Just a thought from the Galilee...

Shabbat Shalom and May G-d help us wake up before its too late!!
