Baby Gili on Her Way

As we watch the sun set for the last time this year here in the Samarian Mountains, we are grateful to G-d, woman and man for making our last post of the year a prayerfuly hopefull one.

Baby Gili, her father, grandfather and abulatory medical staff were flown to London on Sunday. Thanks to the outpouring of compassion & generousity, the family friends who took to the task managed to raise the full amount of Gili's surgery in chunks of $1 - $180.

Gili will G-d willing undergo her surgery on Tuesday, the first day of the New Year, after consultation with the local rabbinate in Israel and the UK confirmed that this was in fact not even a question to be asked.

Please add Baby Gili's name to your Holy Day prayers:

גילי חיה צביה טובה בת רוית

Gili Chaya Tzviya Tova Daughter of Ravit

With blessings and wishes for all to be inscribed in the Book of Good Life, Happiness and Peace!

Help Save Baby Gili - Video Appeal

In early August 2008, Baby Gili Rossler was born in Israel with a rare tracheal problem, a life-threatening situation that causes severe tracheal constriction -- and only one lung.

The combination of these two conditions is extremely dangerous and causes a constant deterioration in her ability to breathe and to the supply of oxygen to her body.

Her Israeli doctors gave her parents the horrible news that little Baby Gili had no chance to survive.

A surgical procedure has been recently developed for the treatment of this condition.

Only two medical centers in the world have experience in the performance of this procedure:

One in London (where three procedures were performed with a 70% success rate) and one in Chicago (ten procedures with an 80% success rate).

Under the instructions of the treating physician Dr. Tommy M. Schonfeld, Director of Pediatric ICU, Schneider Children's Medical Center of Israel, the procedure must be performed urgently!

The cost of this procedure, is prohibitive and only half is covered by Israeli medical insurance, not to mention the necessary ambulatory flights...

For information on helping the family with the costs - please e-mail me at pundit02@yahoo.com - fully tax-deductable in USA & Israel!

Please pray for Gilli Tzvia Tova Bat Ravit

A Happy, Healthy, Prosperous and Quiet New Year to All!

Help Save Baby Gili

Special Appeal To All Friends of The Galilean Word...

Several weeks ago a beautiful baby girl was born in Israel. Her family named her Gili, Hebrew for "joyous one."

As happens in this sometimes cruel world, little Gili was born with a very rare trachea anomaly. Israel's doctors may be amongst the best in the world but in Gili's case, they gave up hope and told the family that she would not survive.

The family did not give up.

Inquires the world over led to two hospitals, one in Chicago (USA) and one in London (UK) that have successfully operated on similar cases and believe that they can save little Gili's life.

I know the family personally and this is not an internet hoax nor a scam.

The operation has been booked for Wednesday, September 23, 2008 in London.

Despite the fact that the hospital is asking for full payment up front, Israel's medical establishment is only willing to pay for half the total cost.

Good friends throughout Israel and the world have taken upon themselves to help the family raise the rest of the money and I am taking this extraordinary measure of turning to you too.

This is one of those rare cases where man and G-d can visibly work together.

One of Baby Gili's neighbors has voluntarily prepared a short film about her and the community's swift efforts to save her life.

It is currently being translated into English and will be posted here and on YouTube as soon as it is ready.

Anyone with the heart or ability to help is urged to contact me immediatly at pundit02@yahoo.com

With best wishes to all for a safe, happy, healthy, prosperous and peaceful new year,

Mike
