Female Terrorist Stopped Before Knife Attack

Source: Israeli Security Services

IDF soldiers manning the Kalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem identified and arrested a 23-year-old female terrorist carrying "two large sharp knives." During the investigation the woman, who had recently been released from prison after serving a sentence for a similar crime, confessed to her aim to stab the soldiers at the checkpoint.

She was the 10th stabbing terrorist stopped and apprehended by the Israeli security services in the Ramallah-Hebron corridor since the beggining of the Passover/Easter holiday season.

An 11th terrorist succeeded in his mission near the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron as was reported by the Galilean Word on Sunday (please see http://galileanword.blogspot.com/2007/04/hebron-stabbing-update.html)

In addition, Israeli security services released this evening (Monday) that terrorists in the Samaria region have been attempting to attack military and civilian vehicles using Gaza style "belly bombs" - bombs that are placed on a road and are exploded by remote control when the targeted vehicle passes by.

Troops and security personnel have been advised to pay extra care to the sudden appearence of pot holes or scrapes in the road that may indicate the carving neccesary to plant such a device.
