As the Galilean Word reported exclusively earlier this afternoon, a Muslim teen approached a checkpoint near the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron this morning, pulled open the doors of a patrol jeep and stabbed two Border Police officers.

Initial reports had one officer sustaining light injuries to his hand, the other being stabbed in his neck and back and being in serious condition after being evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.

The terrorist stabber, aged 17, was shot and injured in the leg by a Border Policeman who witnessed the attack. He was also evacuated to hospital by Israel's Magen David Adom. Large security forces were dispatched to the area and a large number of roadblocks were established.

Dvora Aviad, an MDA paramedic, told reporters that she arrived at the area only a few seconds after the attack. "Even the Hebron Brigade commander was shocked that we arrived there so quickly. We were at the scene to service the many Passover and Easter worshipers and saw the attack with our own eyes. The terrorist just jumped at the jeep, grabbed the doors and lunged at the officers with his knife."

"The police officer we evacuated, who was moderately injured by our terms, was fully conscious and felt well during the ride. He was stabbed on the top left side of his back, and on his waist on the right side," she added.
