Two Border Policemen Stabbed in Hebron

Israeli Security Services have reported that two Border Police officers were stabbed by a Muslim terrorist early this afternoon at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron.

A Border Police patrol was protecting the Passover and Easter celebrations in the anciant city of Abraham and King David when a terrorist yanked open the door of a jeep and stabbed two of the officers inside before being overcome.

One officer has sustained a serious 2 cm neck wound, the other was stabbed in the hand and has already returned to duty. Both were treated at the scene by Magen David Adom medics and later evacuated by a mobile Intensive Care Unit ambulance to Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem, Jerusalem.

The terrorist was lightly wounded in the foot and arrested by Israeli forces at the scene.

Israel Defeats Italy in Davis Cup Tennis!

In lighter news, Israel's underdog Davis Cup Tennis squad defeated its highly favored Italian rival 3-0 over the weekend.

In the opening match, Israel's Dudi Sela (ranked #202 in the ATP singles rankings) defeated Andreas Seppi (ranked #91 in the ATP singles rankings) 6-3, 7-5, 1-6, 3-6, 6-3, and Noam Okun(ranked #171) beat Simone Bolelli (Ranked #111) 7-5, 7-5, 6-4.

Israel's doubles champs, Andy Ram and Yoni Erlich (ranked #7 in world ATP doubles) then proceeded to defeat Italy's Daniele Bracciali and Potito Starace 6-3, 7-6 (4), 7-6(5) clinching the best-of-five Europe/Africa Zone Group 1 tie.

Israel now advances to a World Group playoff in September and is one win away from returning to the upper echelon of world tennis for the first time in over a decade.
